Community kiln in San Antonio, Texas?
I don't have nearly enough money to spend on a kiln or the energy used to power one. I'd try my hand at Raku pottery, but I doubt my home owner's association would be thrilled about me making a fire pit in my yard. Does anyone know where I can find a place to fire my clay works in San Antonio?

What is that school in the old Ursuline Convent School -- Southwest Crafts Institute? They have a good ceramics program. You could contact the dept. head there, and tell him/her that you're very keen on ceramics, but don't have money. Could you exchange work for classes or firings? There's always chores to be done in ceramics -- mixing glazes, cleaning up, etc. Most students are adults and probably don't want to do menial chores. It's also a good way to learn the craft.
